2. Requirement of Licensing Authority
Each licensing authority is required to publish a statement of licensing policy: this will have regard to the nature of the local authority area, the needs and wishes of the communities it serves and produced following consultation with all appropriate bodies. The policy will be available via each LSCB.
The policy statement sets out the general approach to the making of licensing decisions. It does not prevent any individual from making any application, under the terms of the Act, and having that application considered on its individual merits. Nor does it override the right of any person to make representations on an application or to seek a review of a license or certificate where the Act allows them to do so.
